This is an early prototype unit to demonstrate the manufacturing capabilities and functionality of Psalm Audio.


excuse the fuzzy nature of the photos as I had to use my old power shot camera.

Here are some cool angle shots of the chassis which is mostly complete now. We Just got a brand new sheet metal brake to our tooling, so now I will bend a bonnet for the chassis sometime next week. as you may notice I have used allot of old parts from old gear like the faceplate, is from an old Airline reel to reel machine and the side panels "the cast ones" are from an old pioneer Tape machine I had parted out. and the aluminum brackets I got at tractor supply.


The tape path is especially hard to design as you need to balance low friction and low wow and flutter which means no sharp angles more than around 100 degrees which i still need to fix but the capstan and Pinch roller actually work fine which is amazing.

I am glad that I keep old screws I save from parting stuff as I used allot of sheet metal screws in the construction of the chassis.
